Created specifically for “Changing The World One Thread at a Time”
(catalog) a show at the Tubac Center of the Arts, Tubac, Arizona, Thelma Smith, curator, this piece also utilized torn paper collaged in mosaic format, as well as those wonderful, ubiquitous threads. The paper is numerous world maps, torn up and the bits grouped by color, and part of a night-sky map.
I enjoy creating work to interesting titles and themes, and Thelma’s title certainly provided just the right impetus for me in this instance.
Materials: muslin, world and night-sky maps, thread, batting, gel medium.
