The following is found around the base of the Red Tent---they are my words, not the author’s:

The stories from the Red Tent are as varied as the girls and women who occupy it each month. Our Lives are reflected upon in the Red Tent.
Stories of joy…stories of pain. We explore our fears; we talk about our lives, our loves, our losses, our successes. We nurture each other. We celebrate births, mourn deaths. We pray for peace. We talk about our periods, pregnancies, miscarriages and abortions. Incest. We offer each other our hearts, our souls, a hug, a laugh. We support our mutual woman-ness. We cry…we laugh…we sing…we dance.

Materials: commercial felt, thread, wood, wire, miscellaneous fabric.
