WALL ART ~ THE FELT SERIES 2

This piece is one of those pieces that I knew was going to come into being almost before it happened. The felt is actually the result of an dyeing misstep that turned into a wonderful opportunity. Once I saw it, I knew that at some point it would become oceanic and encrusted with pearls in some fashion.

After sitting in the studio for a couple of years in its raw form, the time was right, and it grew into itself. 

It reminds me of all the tide pools I watched as a child, and of the waters off Baja California where I used to go diving.

Materials: merino wool, dyes, beads, freshwater pearls, metal embellishments, quartz crystal, bamboo, silk thread, gold filled wire.
