“Running Away To The Underwater Circus”

A piece that was a lot of fun to make even though done on a very tight deadline. 

This began with making and dyeing the felt some months before this piece was ever thought of. Things often spend a fair amount of time in my studio before they are used in just the right piece. The cords came next: making a quantity because you can never have too many as far as I am concerned. Constructing the piece by hand stitching all the elements, adding a few beads and embellishments, making sure there is visual ‘movement’, all adds up to a feast for the imagination.

What else could it have possibly been called but “Running Away to the Underwater Circus”?

Materials: merino wool, silk, dyes, thread, beads.
